Share Your Ocean City Memories. Help us write our new book.
Ocean City is a special place – not just for what it is today, but for what it has meant to so many people, and so many families. Do you have a special memory you would like to share with others? Perhaps it was a special day on the beach, when a child took a first step, or when you had that perfect chessesteak? For some of us, it will be the first time we stepped out of OUR house (rental or owned) and smelled the salt air. Maybe you caught your first fish here, or met that special someone?
We want to collect ALL your memories. They can be ordinary, or extraordinary. For example, Bill Quain shared his memories of his grandmother saying "There is always a breeze in that little cottage" (Bill never felt one!) and her favorite saying whenever Bill or his siblings complained about something, "There are plenty of kids in Germantown whojwould love to be here right now, they wouldn't complain."
All your stories and memories will go into our new book "A Thin Place, Where Heaven Touches the Shore". Send us ANY memory or story – big or little! We want stories from visitors, summer renters, full-time residents – anyone who loves Ocean City.
You can submit your memories in writing (on a piece of paper to the church office, or by email to memories@stpoc.org) or you can just call our special number and we will automatically RECORD your story on the phone. Call (512) 827-0505, then enter pin # 3160.
We also offer an online form that you can submit your stories with.
You can access the form here.
It couldn't be easier!
We will edit your stories, and put them in the book. As soon as we have enough great memories, we will publish the book and sell it as a great gift idea. All proceeds will benefit local missions which will. Of course, create more Ocean City memories for others.
Please submit your stories right away! Send us two, we love them all!
