Lent at St. Peter’s

Lent 1

Ash Wednesday Services

Join us February 14th at 12:00 noon or 7pm in the sanctuary. Both services will include Imposition of Ashes (coming clean) and Holy Communion (gathering nourishment) for our 40 wilderness days.

Wednesday Noon Lenten Meditations

Please join us on Wednesdays during Lent from February 21st thru March 28th 12:00pm-12:30pm for a time of contemplation and music. Each of these half hour programs will be centered around a different topic. Instead of just giving something up for Lent, add this time each week to your own Lenten Journey and join Pastor Larry and John Bate along with other musicians in the church sanctuary from 12:00pm to 12:30pm. Immediately following a soup luncheon will be served in the Stainton Room.

Tuesday Morning Lenten Study

A Lenten Study will meet Tuesdays throughout Lent at 10am in the Fox Room. The study will rely on the book The Last Week by Marcus Borg and John Dominic Crossan. The book is available from many booksellers including Amazon, in both Kindle, new, used from as little as $2. The study will conclude the week before Palm Sunday.

Palm Sunday
March 25th at the 8:00, 9:00 and 11:00am worship services.

The Living Last Supper

Join St. Peter’s in conjunction with the O.C. Tabernacle for a live dramatization of Leonardo da Vinci’s painting, “The Last Supper” on Thursday, March 29th at 7:00pm and Friday, March 30th at 7:00 pm.

The drama will be held at the Ocean City Tabernacle
550 Wesley Avenue, Ocean City

Good Friday
Join us for a Three-Hour Watch beginning at 12 noon in the sanctuary as clergy from participating churches explore “The Seven Last Words.” The St. Peter’s choir will perform “Handel’s Messiah Part II.”
